As a Maintenance Operative at Bupa, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care homes. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the building services, including heating, hot and cold water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the building fabric and its upkeep.

The successful candidate will possess a good understanding of building services and a practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping. Additionally, they will have knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance. A full driving licence and willingness to support neighbouring Bupa care homes are also essential.

Key skills and qualifications for this role include:

  • A good understanding of building services, including heating, hot and cold water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
  • A good understanding of building fabric and its maintenance.
  • Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to support neighbouring Bupa care homes.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in property maintenance and general repairs, or a relevant qualification.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Be flexible to meet changing demands within the care home.
  • Practical ability and experience in painting and decorating.
