About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Social Care Officer to join our team at Dundee City Council. As a Senior Social Care Officer, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe and supportive care environment for children and young people.
- Work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement care plans.
- Assess and review the needs of children and young people, and provide support and guidance to care staff.
- Supervise and support care staff to ensure high-quality care and support is provided.
- Participate in the management team to develop and implement policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum HNC/SVQ level 3 in Social Care or SVQ 4, or ability to undertake this within registration timescales.
- Experience of working with children and young people, and their families, in a residential care setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, children, and young people.
- Knowledge of the needs of children and young people, and understanding of the emotional, practical, and social care needs of young people.
