Job Title: Support Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dundee City Council as a Support Worker, working in a hybrid style with the Through Care After Care Team. The successful candidate will work full-time, 37 hours per week, based at home and 5 City Square Social Work office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisory and support services to service users.
  • Carry a caseload of appropriate cases and work alongside and under the direction of a senior or professionally qualified worker.
  • Have experience of working with relevant service user groups and possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Have a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and be able to work flexibly between 8am - 8pm.

Requirements:

  • 60 relevant credit points towards the first year of a social work degree (one of HNC in social care or social sciences, K, K or DD).
  • Good planning and organisational skills.

Working with Vulnerable Groups:

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
