Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a psychiatric service for young people up to 18 years in a regional inpatient setting. The service is a centre of excellence, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience. As a regional service, you will have opportunities for collaboration with young people, families, and multi-agency colleagues, as well as developing links with colleagues across the West of Scotland and other inpatient services in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a psychiatric service for young people in a regional inpatient setting
  • Provide medical leadership and Responsible Medical Officer responsibilities for patients within the regional adolescent inpatient service
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care
  • Develop and maintain links with colleagues across the West of Scotland and other inpatient services in Scotland

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration and a licence to practice
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR)
  • Experience of working in tier 3 or 4 child and adolescent psychiatry services
  • Registration as an Approved Medical Practitioner according to the terms of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in Paediatrics, General Practice, or a Medical Specialty
  • Experience in CAMHS services
