Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Frasers Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing site-based engineering support to minimize downtime and ensure uptime and availability of the installed automated equipment on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
- Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles and robotics.
- Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
- Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime.
- Prioritize system faults and optimize uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
- Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
- Comply with health and safety legislation as a priority focus.
- Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
- Ensure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.
- Support site meetings as required.
- Mentor, train and advise junior members of the team.
Requirements
- Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline [multiskilled preferable].
- Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
- Ability to work at height.
- Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
- Proven competence in H&S.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
- Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
- Effective time and workload management skills.
- PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
