About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Symmetric Recruitment Ltd. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of new components and equipment for maritime and sub-sea applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems and components using Autodesk Inventor or similar software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements and industry standards
  • Verify designs through calculation and testing to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Produce formal engineering drawings and documentation to internationally recognized standards
  • Work with engineering design codes and international standards to ensure compliance
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure design meets their needs and expectations
Requirements
  • Time served apprenticeship with relevant industry experience or HND/Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar software
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of engineering design codes and international standards
