Imperial College London: Advanced Research Fellow in Neisserial Vaccinology

The Advanced Research Fellow will be joining the innovation-focused Bidmos' lab, where psychological safety forms the foundation of creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs. The Fellow will lead activities in the lab relating to the functional characterisation of novel Neisserial vaccine antigens and immunogenicity assessments in animal models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in meningococcal and gonococcal biology, with a focus on identifying cognate targets of patient-derived anti-Neisserial human monoclonal antibodies.
  • Develop and implement animal models of Neisserial pathogenesis and vaccinology, and train staff and students on these models.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to contribute to research leadership, encourage innovative thinking, and help solve complex challenges in the field.
Requirements:
  • Prior significant experience in meningococcal and gonococcal biology.
  • Significant experience and ability to train staff and students on animal models of Neisserial pathogenesis and vaccinology.
  • Ability to work in a culture rooted in psychological safety, where ideas are encouraged and collaborative efforts are celebrated.
