About the Role

iMultiply Resourcing Ltd is partnering with a national accounting firm to recruit a Supervisor for its Accounting Insight Advisory team.

The Firm

The accounting practice provides tax, audit, and assurance services, as well as business outsourcing services to companies across various sectors. It is part of a global network with multiple locations in the UK.

The Accounting Insight Advisory Group

The Accounting Insight Advisory Group (AIA) is responsible for preparing accounts for small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients. A strong understanding of financial reporting requirements, including FRS 102 and FRS 105, is essential.

The successful candidate will provide support to AIA Managers in managing client portfolios, working with a team to ensure high standards of client service, and contributing to the growth of the office through business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure jobs are completed to the highest standard, within the agreed budget, and discuss material points with managers and clients.
  • Plan assignments according to the firm's standard procedures and confirm arrangements with clients, including costs and billing arrangements.
  • Take a hands-on supervisory role on assignments as required.
  • Train clients on their accounts system.
  • Deal quickly and effectively with client queries.
  • Brief junior staff on client business and pre-assignment instructions, supervise and control work completion, and provide feedback.
  • Implement review and completion procedures and ensure clients receive final accounts, management letters, and adjustments on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the year and practice excellent client service principles.
  • Ensure liaison with other departments, mainly audit and tax, and identify and service client needs accordingly.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of the firm's specialist services, actively look for cross-selling opportunities, and undertake special work in response to client needs.
  • Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through reading and courses, and fulfill development or training requirements.
  • Support the training and development of staff within the AIA department.
  • Be involved in administrative departmental and office issues as deemed appropriate.
Person Requirements
  • A good understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • An understanding of accounting packages, such as Sage and Xero, would be advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and add value.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed people skills to relate to clients and colleagues.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong accounts production skills, with previous experience of CCH Accounts Production desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to prepare corporation tax computations, with previous experience of Alphatax desirable but not essential.
  • Newly qualified ACA or ACCA.
