About the Job

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Estates team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hospital's mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of steam and condensate systems, water, boilers, heating, and ventilation systems. You will work independently, arranging your own work and carrying out tasks in a safe and tidy manner.

You will be part of a core maintenance team responsible for day-to-day repairs and statutory planned preventative maintenance across the Trust site. This includes regular inspection, testing, and maintenance of air handling units and ventilation plant, as well as operation of steam systems and flushing of water systems in accordance with Control of Legionella HTM04-01.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • City & Guilds or NVQ or Btech (or equivalent) qualification
  • Experience of mechanical installation, inspection, and testing
  • Knowledge of working on steam and condense systems
  • Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision
  • Fault finding skills (diagnostic approach) on mechanical systems and controls
