Job Title: Data Protection Manager

QinetiQ is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Manager to join our team. As a subject matter expert, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's understanding and discharge of its data protection obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage QinetiQ's Record of Processing, ensuring all processing activities are documented, up-to-date, and reviewed regularly.
  • Undertake Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
  • Provide advice on data protection policy, process, and compliance, and manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
  • Monitor developments in data protection law and good practice, identifying opportunities for improvement in company policy and process.
  • Conduct investigations following data breaches and incidents, offering containment advice and advice to mitigate risk in future.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience as a Data Protection Officer in a listed or large company.
  • Extensive experience with engagement with regulators.
  • Experience of Data Protection Act 2018 compliance, particularly advising on Security Services and Law Enforcement.
  • Certified Information Privacy Profession (CIPP) or equivalent qualification in Data Protection.
