Job Overview

The Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner will take strategic leadership responsibility for ensuring the delivery of person-centred, safe and effective patient care by Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) in the Emergency Department of North Bristol NHS Trust.

Main Duties
  • Ensure robust supervision arrangements are in place for all ACPs and Trainee ACPs within the Emergency Department.
  • Provide direction and guidance on clinical practice and development for ACPs and Trainee ACPs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of patient care.
  • Lead and support in the recruitment of new ACPs and Trainee ACPs.
  • Supervise and support Trainee ACPs, including arranging clinical training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership for the strategic direction of all ACP activity within the Emergency Department.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Collaborate with other clinical teams to improve the quality of healthcare.
  • Represent North Bristol NHS Trust at local and national meetings.
Person Specification

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with a valid NMC registration and a minimum of three years of post-credentialled experience working in an NHS Emergency Department.

Desirable criteria include experience of supporting ACPs in training and as a clinical supervisor.
