Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative Adult Learning Disability (ALD) Directorate Speech and Language Therapy service. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals with learning disabilities and their carers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs, and provide specialist assessments, diagnoses, and interventions.
  • Line manage and clinically supervise Speech and Language Therapist Assistants and Specialist Support Workers.
  • Develop and deliver training courses and contribute to the development of Speech and Language Therapy Service policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide specialist assessments and care packages.

Person Specification
  • Professional Speech and Language Therapy qualification and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Membership of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Previous experience of managing and supervising staff.
