About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Defence Portfolio team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting safety activities on multiple product lines and projects, including launchers, underwater acoustics, sensor and communications systems, and technical refreshes.

Salary: Up to £55k depending on experience.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing Safety Management Plans and Safety Case Reports in accordance with MoD Military Standard (Def-Stan 00-056) or equivalent. They will also be expected to keep up to date with the latest safety practices in industry and the MoD, and utilise recognised safety methods, technology, and tools to explore all aspects of Safety management through the design lifecycle.

  • Main Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a Safety Management Environment, ideally with an MoD background or experience of working in the MoD domain. They should be able to produce clear and concise technical safety documentation.

  • SSMO Qualified or similar training would be a bonus.
