About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Child Welfare Specialist to join our Family Safeguarding team in Luton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of need and risk for children and families using established frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clear, accurate, and holistic assessments of need and risk for children and families using the Department of Education and Luton's support document.
  • Leading multi-agency approaches to prevent and address child protection issues and children in need.
  • Undertaking statutory duties under The Children Act and other legislation.
  • Building positive relationships with children and families through direct work and promoting participation.
  • Updating accurate case files in the council's social work database, Liquid Logic.
  • Providing witness statements for Court and being accountable for internal and external agencies.
  • Managing Continued Professional Development (CPD) and progression through regular check-ins and supervisions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registration.
