The Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Bakery Production Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shift operations, ensuring the smooth running of production and packaging equipment, and allocating work activities to the production team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Production Shift Team: Allocate daily work duties, provide guidance, and supervise the production team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage Raw Materials: Oversee the receipt and storage of raw materials, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Production Start-Ups, Shutdowns, and Changeovers: Ensure seamless transitions between production runs, maintaining productivity and quality.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks during the shift to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Shift Production Goals: Monitor and ensure production targets are met, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Shift Handovers and Tier Meetings: Facilitate daily handovers and tier meetings to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Training and Coaching: Provide guidance and training to production operatives, focusing on performance improvement and development.
  • Clean and Safe Work Area: Ensure the production area is clean, safe, and compliant with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, using 5S principles.
  • Accurate Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and complete completion of shift paperwork and production booking into the ERP system.
  • Assistance in Production Operations: Provide support as needed to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Raw Material, Finished Goods, and Consumable Stocktakes: Conduct regular stocktakes to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Deputise as Necessary: Assume responsibilities as required, ensuring continuity of operations.
