Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Planning Expert to join our Cost & Commercial Management team, working closely with key strategic Workplace sector clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on cost planning, project budgeting, forecasting, and strategic procurement services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies and benchmarking exercises to inform client decisions.
  • Apply value management techniques at the outset of projects to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and present comprehensive cost plans, including detailed estimates and risk assessments.
  • Manage procurement processes from pre-qualification to contract preparation, ensuring effective selection and negotiation.
  • Monitor and control post-contract cost variances, change control processes, and cost checking activities.
  • Produce regular post-contract cost reports and present them to clients, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Serve as a primary interface between clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders at all project stages.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development efforts, promoting Mace's expertise in the region.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a cost consultancy practice, preferably with blue-chip Workplace sector clients.
  • Strong knowledge of capital planning, forecasting, and strategic procurement practices.
  • Able to advise on industry best practices and manage people and risks effectively.
  • Proficient in using Excel for data analysis, including sortation formulas, pivot tables, and graphs.
  • Familiarity with industry hot topics, such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction.
What We Offer
