Job Title: Head of Humanitarian Programming

Location: Wenlock Road, London, N1

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our humanitarian programming efforts. As Head of Humanitarian Programming, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our humanitarian programmes, ensuring they are effective, efficient, and aligned with our organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement humanitarian programmes that address the needs of affected populations, in collaboration with our member agencies and partners.
  2. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to our programme teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality programmes.
  3. Ensure that our programmes are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to safeguarding and accountability.
  4. Collaborate with our fundraising and communications teams to develop and implement fundraising strategies that support our humanitarian programmes.
  5. Represent DEC at national and international levels, engaging with governments, donors, and other stakeholders to promote our humanitarian work and advocate for the needs of affected populations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in humanitarian programme management, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality programmes that meet the needs of affected populations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate programme teams to deliver exceptional results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to delivering results in a timely and efficient manner.
