About the Role

We are seeking a diligent Security Officer to join our team at Securitas Security Services. The ideal candidate will possess strong IT literacy, excellent timekeeping skills, and a keen attention to detail. You must be a team player, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the security hatch alarm system, reporting and addressing any faults.
  • Oversee the keys and locks mailbox, handling all requests and returns.
  • Develop, monitor, and update Security Technician site visit routes.
  • Manage the Security mailbox, allocating tasks to Security Technicians.
  • Centrally collate information on Security Technician annual leave, sickness, and monthly reports.
  • Produce reports on security events, trends, and activities.
  • Conduct physical site security checks in the absence of Security Technicians.

Essential Skills:

  • SIA Licence required
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable PSA licensing requirements for Security Officers
  • Experience in the security industry preferred
  • Must hold SC clearance or be willing to undergo the vetting process
  • Five years of checkable employment or education history
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures
  • Skills in verbal and written communication
  • Skills in observing situations and decision making
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications or authorisations specified for the assigned accounts
  • Reporting to Screening Supervisor
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Capable of learning a variety of security and safety devices
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Oral and written communications skills. Must be able to read, write, and understand English
  • Strong customer service and service delivery orientation
  • Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
  • Ability to be an effective leader and member of project teams
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results
  • Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organisation
  • Read and apply Screening SOP
  • Require datacentre personnel to utilize metal detection and/or wand for entrance to and exit of secure areas
  • Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoint(s)
  • Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur
  • Perform hand held wand searches
  • Perform walk through metal detection searches
  • Required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions
  • All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorised company representatives
