About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with learners with learning disabilities and other needs, providing communication and swallowing interventions in a modern and purpose-built college setting.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work autonomously with learners, college staff, and the LD Community to provide communication and swallowing interventions.
  • Demonstrate well-developed skills in dealing with complex clinical issues, ensuring effective caseload management.
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention approaches for children with communication and eating and drinking needs.
  • Empower and enable carers to facilitate communication skills in adults with learning disabilities.
  • Provide advice to others regarding the support of adults with learning disabilities with communication and/or eating and drinking needs.
  • Advise on the promotion of positive communication environments to meet needs.
  • Refer on to other services/agencies as appropriate.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and reduction of risk in service delivery by use of evidence-based practice.
  • Produce written reports regarding needs, summarizing proposed intervention plans and future recommendations.
