We are seeking an experienced Child Safety Specialist to join our Missing Children Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to children and adolescents who have been reported missing.

As a Child Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for arranging and delivering high-quality Return Home Interviews to help us understand why children go missing and reduce the risk of them going missing again. You will need to be grounded in evidence-based practice and able to use your initiative to keep up to date with current research and practice.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to be self-aware and balance competing demands. You should also have sound and accurate IT skills, including report writing and maintaining accurate records.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,624 to £31,067 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, including opportunities for training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and deliver high-quality Return Home Interviews to children and adolescents who have been reported missing.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the reasons behind a child's absence and provide guidance to help prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with children, families, and professionals to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Collaborate with other teams to share best practices and improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Requirements:

  • QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children and families in a social care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
