About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Aspirations Care Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to adults with mental health, learning disabilities, and autism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities through person-centered support.
- Offer stimulation and motivation through conversation and social activity, promoting independence and confidence.
- Assist with daily tasks, including meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Book and attend healthcare appointments with individuals, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Report any safeguarding concerns to the management team, upholding the organization's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
- Maintain accurate records, including care plans and risk assessments, to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with mental health and challenging behaviors, specifically self-harm.
- Knowledge or good understanding of Jamaican culture.
- Passion for supporting individuals in their daily lives, promoting independence and confidence.
- Patient, caring, and understanding approach.
- Ability to set clear boundaries and maintain a safe environment.
- Outgoing, engaging, and enthusiastic personality.
