Design Engineer Job Description

Solution Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Snowdonia, North Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a tunnelling project that will significantly enhance the visual impact of the area.

The Role

As a Design Engineer, you will be the technical lead for the permanent works design on the project. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing design consultant activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and client requirements.
  • Ensuring both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the Project/Engineering Manager as required.
  • Reviewing design deliverables and ensuring they are completed to the expected standard, challenging and resolving issues when not.
  • Attending interface meetings with external parties and keeping records of meetings and assigning/following up on actions related to the design.
  • Collaborating with the engagement of external suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Managing provision of drawings to the project team - document control.
  • Managing the BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works together with the BIM/CAD Technician.
