Design Engineer Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join their team in Snowdonia, North Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a tunnelling project that will enhance the visual impact of the area by burying overhead cables and removing pylons.

The Role

As the technical lead for the permanent works design, you will ensure that design consultant activities and deliverables are completed in line with the agreed programme and client requirements.

You will be responsible for managing and communicating design queries, comments, and information required from design workshops and meetings. Additionally, you will review designers' monthly reports and produce monthly reports on design progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update the design deliverable schedule.
  • Review all design deliverables and ensure they are completed to the expected standard.
  • Attend interface meetings with external parties and keep records of meetings and actions.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers/subcontractors and manage the provision of drawings to the project team.
  • Manage BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works together with the BIM/CAD Technician.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in design management and a strong understanding of design processes. They will be able to work effectively in a team and communicate complex design information to stakeholders.
