**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Educational Needs Consultant to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED.

The successful candidate will have experience of SEND processes within a local authority and be able to work directly with educational establishments such as nurseries, schools or colleges.

The role involves implementing and coordinating the needs assessment and review process in compliance with the requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015.

You will be responsible for assessing individual children and young people and developing EHC Plans that are aspirational, holistic, outcome-focused, and compliant with the Code of Practice 2015.

Additionally, you will manage a complex caseload and casework to ensure that the Local Authority is able to respond to SEND children and young people's needs as they change.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, carers, children, and young people, as well as school staff and other professionals.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Implement and coordinate the needs assessment and review process in compliance with the requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
  • Assess individual children and young people and develop EHC Plans that are aspirational, holistic, outcome-focused, and compliant with the Code of Practice 2015.
  • Manage a complex caseload and casework to ensure that the Local Authority is able to respond to SEND children and young people's needs as they change.
  • Work directly with parents, carers, children, and young people to ensure that the needs assessment process is undertaken in a manner that is clear, accessible, and collaborative.
  • Work in partnership with schools, providing advice, direction, and challenge in respect of the needs assessment and review process.

**Essential Requirements:**

  • Experience of SEND processes within a local authority.
  • Experience of drafting EHC Plans or statements of special educational needs.
  • Experience of working directly with educational establishments such as nurseries, schools, or colleges.
  • Experience with the Education Act 1996, the Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
  • Good general standard of education equivalent to 'A' level including GCSE English.

**Estimated Salary:** £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days at home) and a competitive salary package.
