Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer to join our client, a forward-thinking civil service organisation, as they embark on an exciting journey of digital transformation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the organisation's digital strategy, ensuring the effective delivery of digital services, and safeguarding against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Digital Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee Digital Services Delivery: Ensure the availability and performance of digital services, including infrastructure, systems, networks, and service desk.
  • Manage Digital Operations: Oversee the management of digital operations, including infrastructure, systems, networks, and service desk.
  • Cyber Security: Act as the primary point of contact for cyber security issues, develop and execute a cyber security strategy to protect the organisation's digital assets, and promote cross-government cyber security awareness and training.
  • Digital Governance and Compliance: Establish governance policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices, represent digital services at audits and senior-level meetings, and develop and manage the digital and security budget.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in digital transformation and cyber security.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong technical skills, with expertise in digital infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
