Solar Field Service Technician

Astute People's Renewables team is partnering with a leading energy sector business to operate and maintain utility scale Solar assets, as well as Wind farms. We're seeking a skilled Solar Field Service Technician with electrical qualifications to work across the Bristol/Somerset area, assisting with day-to-day operations and maintenance across the assets.

This role comes with a competitive salary up to 42,000, further training and qualifications, a 1 in 5 call-out rota with allowances, van & fuel card, and company benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take primary on-site responsibility for plant performance, optimisation of the site, and maintaining equipment 'up time'.
  2. Provide technical guidance and day-to-day training to junior technicians.
  3. Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance works across solar farms, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance if qualified.
  4. Effectively help to resolve work tickets and report issues back to your manager.
  5. Liaise with internal and external teams, including in-house LV/HV personnel, the grounds team, and external subcontractors when required.
  6. Take part in the company's on-call rota for non-working hours (including Bank Holidays and weekends).
Requirements
  1. Experience in O&M activities across industrial or utility scale solar assets.
  2. City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Electrotechnical Technology.
  3. IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable but not essential.
