Solar Field Service Technician

Astute People's Renewables team is partnering with a leading energy sector business to operate and maintain utility scale Solar assets and Wind farms. We're seeking a skilled Solar Field Service Technician with electrical qualifications to work across the Bristol/Somerset area, assisting with day-to-day operations and maintenance across the assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take primary on-site responsibility for plant performance, optimisation of the site, and maintaining equipment 'up time.'
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day training to junior technicians.
  • Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance works across solar farms, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance if qualified.
  • Effectively help to resolve work tickets and report issues back to your manager.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams, including in-house LV/HV personnel, the grounds team, and external subcontractors when required.
  • Participate in the company's on-call rota for non-working hours (including Bank Holidays and weekends).
Requirements
  • Experience in O&M activities across industrial or utility scale solar assets.
  • City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Electrotechnical Technology.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
