Vehicle Technician

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician/Vehicle Technician to join our team at First Bus, Doncaster depot. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for diagnosing vehicle faults, specifying the correct method of repair, and carrying out vehicle servicing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing vehicle faults and specifying the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
- Carrying out vehicle servicing.
- Being fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems, and E.C.U.
- Being fully familiar with all relevant diagnostic equipment, including multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and E.C.U. diagnostic computer equipment.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of £20.00 based on a 40-hour working week, as well as a range of benefits, including free travel on our buses for you and your family, a pension scheme, and enhanced maternity/paternity pay.
Requirements include:
- A minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2), and on-the-job working experience.
- Being fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
- Having a valid UK driver's license.
- Being electrical biased and able to demonstrate this at interview.
