Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Challenge - TRG Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our transport operation at Felixstowe, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the transport operation at Felixstowe, including planning and scheduling, fleet management, and driver compliance.
  • Ensure operational compliance with regulatory requirements, including Operator Licence regulations and Compliance Auditing Processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and development, including identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Manage and develop a team of transport professionals, including future recruits.
  • Produce and present commercial reports and outcomes to senior management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Proven management experience in a successful transport operation with a large fleet.
  • CPC qualification.
  • Extensive knowledge of Operator Licence regulations.
  • Experience of Compliance Auditing Processes.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent commercial and budget awareness skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
