Team Lead - Engine Test Centre Job Summary

Join our team at Millbrook as a Team Lead - Engine Test Centre and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our engine test centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the test centre and leading a team of professionals.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient running of the test centre, managing direct reports and their performance, training, and health and safety compliance.

The Engine Test Centre delivers various testing programs, from durability and fuel testing to research projects on prototype hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the Engine Test Centre's daily operations
  • Preparation and installation of test samples into engine test cells
  • Motivating and mentoring team members to achieve departmental goals
  • Promoting a positive working environment
  • Co-ordinating resources to maximise efficiency and productivity
  • Approving timesheets and holiday requests
  • Liaising with supporting departments, engineers, and customers
  • Continuing initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Leading operational projects to resolve complex testing requirements
Requirements
  • Experience in automotive and/or testing background
  • Health and Safety management experience, including risk assessments and LOLER/Puwer

Skills:

  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine fundamentals
  • Understanding of engine support systems
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
