We are seeking a highly skilled Equity Analyst to join our team at Selby Jennings, a leading boutique investment firm focused on emerging markets equity analysis. As an Equity Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our investment team in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in emerging markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for understanding complex financial data. This role is ideal for someone looking to break into the investment industry, as no prior finance experience is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment, to identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze macroeconomic trends, political developments, and market dynamics in key emerging markets to inform investment decisions.
  • Develop and maintain investment theses for companies and sectors under coverage, providing actionable insights to the investment team.
  • Provide investment recommendations to the portfolio management team based on thorough research and analysis, ensuring alignment with the firm's investment strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest market trends, news, and developments impacting emerging markets, leveraging this knowledge to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with other analysts and portfolio managers to contribute to the overall investment strategy, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to investment analysis.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to the investment team and senior management, effectively communicating complex financial data and investment insights.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a leading University, with a minimum grade of 2.1.
  • No prior finance experience is necessary, but a strong analytical background and excellent problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
