Job Title: Chief Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Birmingham, UK. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design team, recruitment, training, and development of staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering, with experience in the delivery of infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for integrating with international technical networks, leading technical delivery of design discipline production, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design team and ensure the delivery of high-quality designs
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure the team's technical capabilities
  • Integrate with international technical networks to ensure the delivery of designs
  • Lead technical delivery of design discipline production to agreed programme, budget, and safety and quality specifications
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality specifications

Requirements:

  • Significant previous experience in Geotechnical Engineering, with experience in the delivery of infrastructure projects
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and geo-environmental engineering
  • Detailed experience in earthwork design, ground improvement, foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability assessments
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in management, procurement, supervision, and interpretation of ground investigations
