About the Role

We are working with a well-established medium-sized construction company with a strong presence across various sectors. The company is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join their team in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization.
  • Assist in the pre-qualification process of subcontractors and collaborate with design, engineering, and delivery teams on health and safety matters.
  • Contribute to and review project significant risks, assisting in the development of Construction Phase Plans (CPP) and associated documentation.
  • Provide technical and specialist guidance to line and site management in the implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of key roadmaps or improvement plans.
  • Undertake SSER inspections on a monthly basis, recording findings and advising management as appropriate.
  • Monitor site compliance with statutory health and safety responsibilities and the business management system.
  • Review site procedures and practices as required and provide reports to the management team.
  • Carry out and/or support business units in 45001/14001 internal and external audits.
  • Lead in health and safety incident investigations and involvement with regulatory bodies.
  • Assist operational teams in conducting incident investigations to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and manage incident reports within designated timescales.
  • Oversee the collation of working hours/statistics each month and record on to the SHEQ system.
  • Contribute to the development of management/statistical reports in a timely manner.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide updates on performance.
  • Report to project management teams on a regular basis.
  • Manage and deliver the health and safety aspect of the business unit induction process.
  • Deliver health and safety-related training.
