We are seeking an exceptional Fresh Food Operations Supervisor to join our team at Booker Group. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the operations of our fresh food department, ensuring that our products are of the highest quality and meet the needs of our customers.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fresh food department, including ordering and managing stock, maintaining high standards of quality and customer service, and driving sales and profitability growth. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and preferences, and develop effective solutions to meet their requirements.

We are looking for someone with excellent leadership and communication skills, who is able to motivate and inspire their team to deliver outstanding results. You should have good product knowledge of all meat proteins, and be able to maintain high standards in all areas including stock, food safety procedures, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the fresh food department, including ordering and managing stock.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to drive sales and profitability growth.
  • Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful advice with a smile.
  • Ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking.
  • Effectively developing and managing a small team, including staff rotas.
  • Cutting meat to order.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating deliveries or order pickups.
  • Controlling waste.
