Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at JMW Farms Ltd. As a key member of our veterinary practice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and welfare of our animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the health and welfare of our animals at all times.
  • Advise and support our team on animal welfare legislation and regulations.
  • Manage health management across our farms, including examining and observing animals, testing for disease, and conducting post-mortems.
  • Provide expert advice on animal nutrition and dietary recommendations.
  • Develop and implement health plans across all farms.
  • Analyze production statistics and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Red Tractor standards for animal health and welfare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Qualified MRCVS with experience in veterinary medicine or recent graduate.
  • Experience working with large livestock, particularly pigs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Full clean driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience working with pigs and familiarity with VMD requirements for running a veterinary practice.
  • Good understanding of monogastric production systems.
  • Experience in post-mortems, taking samples, and treatments.
