Financial Planning Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Accountant to join our team at the Illinois CPA Society. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the strategic risk management and tax management functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
- Oversee the audit liaison and budget monitoring processes, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the financial year-end processes, including the publishing of the Statement of Accounts and the Local Government Transparency Code.
- Provide financial advice and support to our objectives and tax affairs, leveraging your expertise in local government finance.
- Develop and implement budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with our corporate plan objectives.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, ensuring robust controls are in place and collaborating with stakeholders to drive improvement.
- Proven expertise in local government finance, with a strong understanding of accounting regulations and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English grades C/4 or above.
