Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to supporting all pupils and an understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH. They will be able to use their own initiative, work well as part of a team, and enjoy challenging, supporting, and motivating pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the progress of pupils through daily tailored therapeutic and academic interventions
  • Prioritise emotional well-being and self-regulation while identifying academic gaps and ensuring precision teaching to plug the gaps
  • Foster a strong sense of community where children can build positive relationships, learn from one another, and develop essential social skills, emotional regulation, and resilience through a trauma-informed approach
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality learning that aligns with the national curriculum
  • Support the development of positive behaviour choices
Requirements
  • At least a Level 2 qualification in both Maths and English
  • Ability to use own initiative, work well as part of a team, and enjoy challenging, supporting, and motivating pupils
  • Passion and enthusiasm for working with children with SEMH
  • Highly motivated and committed to supporting the needs of pupils with SEMH
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary scale C1 (£23,983-£29,777) pro rata + Special Needs Allowance of £1,455. The successful candidate will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance their understanding of SEMH issues and effective support strategies.
