Human Factors Specialist

A prestigious opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Human Factors Specialist to join our esteemed client's team based in Broughton. As part of this exciting role, you will have the chance to influence and drive change in an established wing manufacturing facility.

The Human Factors team is a small but influential group within the manufacturing engineering department, with close working relationships with operations, design engineering, and health & safety across the plant. Your primary focus will be on optimising human working conditions and overall system performance for existing and new manufacturing tooling and processes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing human factors work analysis of Assembly/Installation activities
  • Providing recommendations to address ergonomic risk factors
  • Supporting the development of action plans suited to the industrial strategy and future evolutions
  • Contributing to the definition of specifications, call for tenders, and subcontractor piloting in ergonomics-related outsourced work packages
  • Ensuring that ergonomics is taken into account in jigs and machine suppliers
  • Developing solutions for risk and hazard reduction using technical, organisational, and training approaches
  • Monitoring international regulatory and scientific developments for deployment and guidance
  • Maintaining an up-to-date Ergonomics Tactical Implementation plan for the location
  • Effective communication with local Health and Safety representatives on ergonomic matters
  • Supporting specific ergonomic actions/task forces on other transnational locations


This role requires a degree-level education in Human Factors or a related field, as well as Accredited Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent. With a competitive salary of £50,000-£60,000 per annum, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.
