At Babcock International Group, we're committed to creating a safe and secure world, together. As a Facility Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our site supervisory team in delivering a wide range of hard and soft Facilities Management support to our properties.
The Role
As a Facility Maintenance Assistant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required, as well as:
- Use appropriate tools and equipment in a safe manner to avoid harm to users or others
- Report issues promptly to the site supervisory team
- Use a computer for emails and to upload work, with training provided
- Carry out inspections on equipment to ensure it's serviceable and compliant
- Help maintain the buildings to current legislation and ensure a safe working environment
This position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week, and is based on site at our RAF Shawbury site.
Essential Experience
We're looking for someone with:
- Basic DIY skills and a deep understanding of maintenance procedures
- Problem-solving skills for addressing safety and maintenance concerns
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for giving instructions to contractors
- Organisation, multi-tasking, and scheduling skills
- A full UK driving licence

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
