Building Contracts Specialist Position

We are a leading construction company in Cheltenham, United Kingdom, seeking a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, procurement, and contract negotiation, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Financial Reporting: Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide precise financial reporting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring fair and mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee project cash flows and budgets to prevent delays and minimize risks.
  • Risk Identification: Identify potential commercial risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to protect project success.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant construction regulations and legislation.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to meet project objectives.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Deep understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Valid UK driving license.
