Run a Marston's Pub in Cardiff

We are seeking an experienced publican or retail manager to run our Marston's pub in Cardiff. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing a food operation and be able to build relationships with the local community.

The pub is located in the heart of the community in Tongwynlais, just off the A470 North of Cardiff. It has a regular customer base of villagers and tourists, as well as cyclists who stop off for a break. The pub hosts regular entertainment, including a weekly quiz, Open Mic Nights, and monthly live music.

We are looking for someone who can grow the food sales, including Sunday lunches and weekend food trade, and capitalize on midweek offers. The ideal candidate will have high standards and be a good networker to involve themselves in the local community.

The pub currently takes on average £8000 per week on an 80/20 wet-led split. The benefits of this role include:

  • A guaranteed annual retained sum of £25k, released weekly.
  • 22% share of weekly sales, excluding VAT.
  • Low ingoing costs, deposits starting from £5,000 and £360 legal cost.
  • Accommodation included with most bills covered, except the council tax & TV License.
