About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Macmillan support team as a Cancer Support Specialist. As part of a strong and organized team under the supervision of the Macmillan Survivorship Manager, you will work alongside patients and carers to deliver a high level of information and support throughout the cancer pathway.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess clients to ensure they receive the appropriate support.
- Provide individualized information and support verbally, written, or by phone in a format suitable to each client.
- Coordinate and deliver support sessions provided by Macmillan.
- Supervise and support Macmillan volunteers within the service, participating in their recruitment, induction, and training.
- Maintain links with the community, including social prescribers, to ensure services are appropriate for users.
