Estimator Role Overview

Pertemps TM is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team in Plymouth. As a customer-focused individual, you will play a key role in maintaining relationships with existing clients and establishing connections with potential clients. Your sound knowledge in the preparation and submission of tenders and quotations will be essential in this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, quantity surveyors, and other third parties to ensure successful project management
  • Actively monitor tender portals for relevant projects and establish contact to capitalize on business opportunities
  • Review and evaluate all tender enquiries for completeness and accuracy, ensuring a smooth supply chain process
  • Administrate correspondence and tender documentation throughout the supply chain to maintain open communication
  • Organise and attend site visits with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and project costs
  • Obtain pricing in a timely manner to meet submission deadlines, ensuring timely project completion
  • Review and evaluate all project costs and provide a complete price submission to stakeholders
  • Assess the levels of business risk on each project, providing a comprehensive understanding of potential challenges
  • Compile and provide detailed handover information for all successful bids to the Operations team, ensuring a seamless transition
Requirements:
  • Highly numerate, uses initiative and solves problems independently, with excellent analytical skills
  • Proven track record of estimating in building maintenance works, with a strong understanding of project management principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to using company customer relationship management systems
  • Full clean driving licence is required, and a DBS will be conducted
