Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEND School

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEND school. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with profound and moderate learning difficulties (PMLD) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to students with PMLD, promoting their independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring students receive tailored support.
  • Facilitate effective communication using various methods, such as Makaton, PECS, and assistive technology.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters social and emotional growth.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic education and care, celebrating students' achievements and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or a related field (Level 2/3 LSA or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students with PMLD is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
