Job Title: LAC Tutor

Vision for Education, a leading provider of education services, is seeking a Support Worker for Young People to work in Preston on a part-time basis.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate individual to provide one-to-one support to students with diverse needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Tuition sessions can last from 1 to 3 hours per day, depending on the student's requirements. We cater to students who need additional support in specific curriculum areas or cannot attend an education setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop positive relationships with students and help them overcome learning barriers.
  • Design and deliver high-quality Maths and English lessons tailored to each student's needs.
  • Implement teaching strategies based on the student's Educational, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and adapt your approach to maintain focus and motivation.
  • Liaise with schools to obtain schemes of work and report any issues or concerns as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in instructing or teaching young people is essential.
  • Able to teach Maths and English to a high standard.
  • Comprehensive understanding of working with young people attributed EHCPs for Special Educational Needs, with relevant references available.
  • Experience in implementing various de-escalation strategies in challenging situations involving young people.
  • A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) is required.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, training, or qualifications. Vision for Education prioritizes safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All registered staff will undergo thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
