Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Adults Care Support Specialist to join our team at Shonacareltd.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, washing, showering, and meal preparation, within clients' homes.
  • Promptly administer medication and support clients in accessing community resources, such as shopping and social activities.
  • Maintain a supportive presence within the home at all times, including live-in care.
  • Take responsibility for shifts while on duty.
  • Collaborate with other professional staff to implement care plans.
  • A background in social care is preferred, but extensive training is provided.
  • Hold an SVQ2, HNC in Health and Social Care, or be working towards equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Possess a valid driving license and car.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of commencing employment.

Job Requirements:

  • Care for the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of clients using a person-centred approach.
  • Observe and promote clients' human rights and health and social care standards.
  • Evidence that care is based on dignity, respect, choice, compassion, well-being, and responsiveness to changing needs.
  • Maintain good professional relationships with clients, their families, and friends, and wider agencies.
  • Adhere to regulatory and statutory obligations, as well as Potters Health Care's policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
