Job Title: Shovel Driver

We are seeking a skilled Shovel Driver to join our team at Belfast Harbour. As a Shovel Driver, you will be responsible for operating a 5-tonne bucket capacity front loader shovel to load grain box type trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 5-tonne bucket capacity front loader shovel to load grain box type trailers.
  • Assist with ship discharge and maintain good housekeeping in all areas.
  • Perform daily checks on new equipment installed on the ninth floor.
  • Work on Floor 2 loading trucks and on Silo floor 9/10.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an automated animal feed store and/or bulk material handling.
  • Ability to work on weekends as required.
  • Flexibility in approach to hours and duties.

Working Hours:

Day shift: 6.00 am - 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.

Night shift: 36 hours per week, rotating every four weeks with other Silo Operative.

Salary:

Day position: £528.49 per week, £27,481.48 per annum.

Night position: £609.78 per week, £31,708.56 per annum.

Additional Payments:

Two week's basic pay three times per year, payable on or around April, July, and December.

Overtime:

Paid at a fixed rate of £ per hour.
