About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our established multi-professional team at the Memory Clinic at Coltman Street, Hull.

The successful candidate will have clinical responsibility for diagnosing complex cases, formulating treatment plans, and prescribing cognitive enhancers. They will work collaboratively with nursing and psychology services to provide an assessment service for older adults with memory disorders.

The post holder will be expected to hold and maintain S12(2) and Responsible and Approved Clinician Status for on-call commitments. They will also be required to participate in clinical audits and quality improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage complex cases of memory disorders in older adults
  • Formulate treatment plans and prescribe cognitive enhancers as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and psychology services to provide an assessment service
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement programs
  • Hold and maintain S12(2) and Responsible and Approved Clinician Status for on-call commitments
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment
  • Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience, including the contribution of others
