**Role Overview:**
Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire is a well-established charity based in Hull supporting people with visual impairment. Our mission is to ensure that no-one in Hull & East Yorkshire faces sight loss alone and every visually impaired person can enjoy the same opportunities and quality of life as those who are fully sighted.
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced Community Advice Officer to join our team to cover the area from the West of Hull to Goole and surrounding areas. This post could be carried out remotely depending on the geographical location of the successful candidate.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in information provision, be a confident IT user, including databases, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should also have a full driving licence with use of a vehicle, as Sight Support offers this service throughout East Yorkshire.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide advice on benefits and services available for visually impaired people
- Help to relieve isolation / loneliness by signposting into Sight Support activities or other organisations
- Assist with completion of benefit forms
**Requirements:**
- Experience of working in information provision
- Confident IT user, including databases
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Full driving licence with use of a vehicle
**Salary and Benefits:**
The salary for this role is estimated at £17,719 per annum, paid at 45p per mile for business travel. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and mileage is paid at 45p per mile.
