Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Production Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous running of production machines by minimizing downtime during day-to-day operations, PPMs, and fault finding and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a right-first-time maintenance service to promote high-quality products and services
  • Maintain plant and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Identify spare parts to effect repairs using machine manufacturer's manuals and order through stores
  • Maintain engineering standards and records in accordance with ISO 9001 and 9002
  • Follow up on outstanding issues to a successful conclusion
  • Carry out weekly detailed inspections, maintain logs, and defect report sheets
  • Maintain and improve plant efficiency through planned PPMs of production machines
  • Complete detailed maintenance reports using a computer-based maintenance package
  • Report any dangerous occurrences or unsafe machine conditions
  • Carry out SUSA discussions and monthly internal safety audits
Requirements
  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship (HNC/HND are desirable)
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • FLT/cherry picker license (or willingness to obtain)
  • Welding
  • First Aid
  • Two years minimum experience in an FMCG production environment
  • Experience with Steam systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PPM/TPM maintenance operations

  • Current shift pattern is a 12-hour shift working across days and night, on a 36-hour working week
